Downtown Old Market Wedding in Omaha, NE

Kyle and Mandy are quirky, intelligent, and super fun. Despite the cold, windy weather, we had a blast. 1316 Jones Street is always a fantastic venue and I gotta say that it was the perfect choice for this couple. They had a lot of out-of-town guests so it was important to be downtown. Oh, and we also had a perfect view of the fireworks! Loved it. EVERYBODY was outside enjoying the night despite the weather. We love telling this type of unique story. Iwen Exposures did both the still photography and a short film for this couple.

Omaha Wedding Video Ft. Benson’s Beercade and the Holland Center

When we first met with Geoff and Jessica, they already had a photographer buddy lined up to handle the still photography side of things, but were interested in having us produce a film for them. The first thing we do with every single client that walks through our door is to get to know them and figure out how we can best lend our talents to their day. Often times, we handle all of the still photography and cinematic video for clients, but we are also more than happy to just do one or the other.

We talked about all of the details of their day- the getting ready locations, the venues…the more we talked, the more this film came to life in my head. They talked about their downtown condo where Geoff would be getting ready with the guys, they talked about the Old Market salon where Jessica and the girls would be getting their hair and makeup done, and how Jessica’s parents got married at Saint Margaret Mary’s 30 years ago and how special that venue was to them. We talked about their dog. We talked about video games and beer, which led us to Beercade in Benson. We talked about transportation and the Holland Center.

We genuinely loved working on this film and spending time with this amazing couple. They are truly meant to be together and it shows in their smiles, across-the-room-glances, and the loving words of their family and friends. Telling amazing stories like these through still photography and video is the essence of what we do…and we love it.

Omaha Wedding ft. The Magnolia Hotel and Paxton Ballroom – Cassandra + William

Cassandra and William have that classic Hollywood feel about them. Timeless, yet modern, class through and through. They could not have picked better venues. The Magnolia Hotel and The Paxton Ballroom both have personalities as unique as Cassie and Will themselves. Their entire wedding party was awesome, fun-loving, and had me laughing all day.

Our photographers used every square inch of the Magnolia’s incredible courtyard to produce some amazing environmental portraits. The architecture and details of the space beautifully complimented the couple. The warm winter sun was soft and beautiful. After that it was just a short few blocks up the street to The Paxton Ballroom. The Paxton is a perennial favorite among Omaha wedding venues, and we love it. The character, the architecture, and the staff are all phenomenal.

Cassandra and William’s two children made the ceremony fun and personal. It was a brief, yet emotional affair. As the Paxton crew reset the ballroom for dinner, Cassie and Will slipped away for some quality time. The roof of the Paxton is one of my absolute favorite locations to photograph newlyweds, and the night skyline was fantastic. I think it’s plain to see that they had as much fun as we did. After dinner, the party was in full swing. Drinks, dancing, hugs, and laughter were all in abundance. Who needs Hollywood when you have downtown Omaha?

Omaha Winter Wedding ft. Joslyn Castle – Lauren + Steve

Sun and snow. Lauren and Steve could not have asked for better weather on their winter wedding day. Beautiful, clean white snow, crisp clear air, and one amazing couple. Two of the most generous people surrounded by their closest friends and family made for an awesome day. While waiting for the guys to arrive, Lauren and the girls were getting ready inside the historic Joslyn Castle. Once the guys showed up and added the finishing touches, Lauren and Steve followed our photographers back outside for their amazing first moment. Even though it was chilly, I could have shot there all day long. The new soft snow, old weathered stones, and midday sun made for a striking scene.

The wedding party were brave enough to follow for some great group shots, but soon the cold got the better of us all. No matter, the Joslyn Castle has some of the best architecture inside and out. After warming up, it was off to St. Margaret Mary’s. Arriving just before sunset made the photography easy – we just had Lauren and Steve bask in the beautiful pre-dusk light. The magic hour, as it’s called, produced a lovely soft golden glow that you could taste. Simply exquisite.

The ceremony was lively and personal, a perfect fit for a perfect couple. Then it was a quick trip on Lulu the Trolly and we were at Indian Creek Golf Course, which is becoming one of my favorite venues. I think Happy Hour is an understatement since everyone was clearly having an incredible time. Hap Abraham’s catered the food and they delivered like they always do. Absolutely delicious. The food didn’t slow anybody on the dance floor though, as the wedding party put on a dance clinic all night long.

Omaha Wedding at Saint Margaret Mary’s + The Paxton Ballroom – Alex + Grant

Alex and Grant have great smiles. Smiles that match their amazing personalities. Smiles that make you smile. Easy going and super easy to work with. From the moment I first met them at my studio, I knew that I wanted to work with them. Alex got ready at her parent’s Midtown Omaha home near Elmwood Park. The backyard was a great oasis and we got some really amazing photographs of Alex hanging out with her dog, her sis, and her besties.

We had some gale force winds coming from the north, but that wasn’t going to stop us from shooting the portraits and the first moment outside. I sent one of our main photographers, Kyle, over to Elmwood to make sure that our locations that we had chosen would still be ok despite the wind. No problem. The rest of the crew headed over and we got set for the first moment. Amazing. We all felt lucky and privileged to be part of it. You can just feel the love between these two…

The venues were two of my favorite spots to shoot in town: Saint Margaret Mary’s and The Paxton Ballroom. St. Mags has such beautiful, historical architecture with great exterior vignettes that are lovely to photograph. The Paxton? Yeah, we love the Paxton- so many awesome nooks and crannies for doing our thing and the Art Deco architecture is one-of-a-kind.

Omaha Wedding Video- A Love Story

Gretchen and Eddie..What can I say? Amazing couple with an amazing story. Love their vibrant personalities, families, style…We had the pleasure of producing this film for them and then showing it in front of a live audience at their reception. It was the first time that they had seen it.

We also produced a wedding video the day of their wedding and handled all of the still photography. Father Tom (the greatest!) delivered a beautiful ceremony at Sacred Heart in north Omaha. Then we headed south to Sokal Hall for a dub-stepping good time.

Nebraska City Wedding [Photo + Cinema]

Meghan and Wade decided on Nebraska City as the perfect “destination” for their wedding because of its close proximity to both Omaha and Kansas City, which is where they now live. We love shooting in NE City- such a lovely town with amazing places to shoot. Their wedding was full of great details and personality and I am so happy that we got to do both the photography AND the cinematography. Our crew did an amazing job and Meghan and Wade were so fun to work with. I LOVE their finished film- definitely not your typical wedding video! Have a look…

Omaha Weddings- Photography and Video

Our passion is telling stories. Beautiful, real, one-of-a-kind stories. Our specialty is providing both creative still photography AND amazing cinematography for our clients. This year has been truly amazing and we have worked closely with our clients to produce some of our best work ever. Amazing venues, amazing vendors, amazing details…all the ingredients necessary for us to do our thing.

Here’s one of the first weddings we did this year. Allison and Vince. Awesome couple with incredible families. Matt Pekula, the main photographer at this wedding, made the comment after the wedding. “Man, I want to be part of that family.” Totally true. Vibrant, emotional, loving. The love that Allison’s father has for his daughter (and his entire family) is so evident in the film. There were so many memorable moments that day that I am so happy we captured on film. On of my favorites was during Allison and Vince’s first moment together- you can see Allison’s twin sister in the background with an ear-to-ear smile that can be seen for miles…

Father Tom Fangman from Sacred Heart was the preacher- super cool guy- love working with him. Ceremony was at St. Johns on the Creighton Campus and the reception was at the downtown Hilton.

Cheers!

Omaha Portrait Shoot [Julia and Paul]

Soft, diffused early morning light mimicked the personalities of this placid couple. Julia and Paul came to Omaha together to complete their residency. I loved working with them on this shoot and am greatly looking forward to their wedding next month.

Omaha Wedding Venue- 1316 Jones Street

We are pleased as punch to be the preferred photography and video studio for 1316 Jones Street. It is one of our favorite places to shoot! The simple, but modern space is located smack-dab in the heart of the Old Market and offers a historic setting with all the amenities you would ever need. Chad Morford, the general manager, and his crew are simply amazing to work with and handle all the details with a comfortable, laid back style.

Here is a video promo piece that we produced for 1316 Jones Street.
