Sun and snow. Lauren and Steve could not have asked for better weather on their winter wedding day. Beautiful, clean white snow, crisp clear air, and one amazing couple. Two of the most generous people surrounded by their closest friends and family made for an awesome day. While waiting for the guys to arrive, Lauren and the girls were getting ready inside the historic Joslyn Castle. Once the guys showed up and added the finishing touches, Lauren and Steve followed our photographers back outside for their amazing first moment. Even though it was chilly, I could have shot there all day long. The new soft snow, old weathered stones, and midday sun made for a striking scene.
The wedding party were brave enough to follow for some great group shots, but soon the cold got the better of us all. No matter, the Joslyn Castle has some of the best architecture inside and out. After warming up, it was off to St. Margaret Mary’s. Arriving just before sunset made the photography easy – we just had Lauren and Steve bask in the beautiful pre-dusk light. The magic hour, as it’s called, produced a lovely soft golden glow that you could taste. Simply exquisite.
The ceremony was lively and personal, a perfect fit for a perfect couple. Then it was a quick trip on Lulu the Trolly and we were at Indian Creek Golf Course, which is becoming one of my favorite venues. I think Happy Hour is an understatement since everyone was clearly having an incredible time. Hap Abraham’s catered the food and they delivered like they always do. Absolutely delicious. The food didn’t slow anybody on the dance floor though, as the wedding party put on a dance clinic all night long.
